Staff positions

If you think your skills, experience and interests are aligned with work in the Roth Lab as a technician, research associate or staff scientist, please feel free to send a CV with a brief note summarizing relevant experiences and interests to fritz@pitt.edu. Even if a position is not posted, exceptional candidates might trigger creation of a new position (with an open search).

Postdoctoral Fellow positions

Exceptional postdoctoral candidates could trigger creation of a new position (for which all applicants will be fairly reviewed). If interested, please send a CV with a brief note indicating your interests to fritz@pitt.edu.

PhD Student Positions

The lab is currently accepting graduate students, via any one of the University of Pittsburgh-affiliated PhD programs below:

Note that sponsorship from an advisor is not required prior to application, and student/advisor interviews are typically only in the context of the admissions process. Student/advisor commitments are only made after acceptance and rotations. Once you have been admitted to a University of Pittsburgh graduate program, please contact Fritz Roth at fritz@pitt.edu to discuss a rotation.

Undergraduate or Post-Baccalaureate Student research positions

The Roth Lab typically only takes on new students and post-baccalaureates for full-time positions in Summer or late Spring, although continuing students often continue part-time through the school year. We welcome talented undergraduates, especially those with previous molecular biology lab experience. For those with interest in computational biology, we require previous programming experience and basic molecular genetics coursework.

If you are interested, please contact fritz@pitt.edu in November-March, for the summer that follows, with a CV and a brief note describing relevant background and reasons for interest in the lab.
